You have finished your degree and you have all the requirements you need to land your dream job, or, you have gained valuable skills through the school year and are looking for a summer student job in your field. Now what? We have invited speakers from across the sectors (government, NGO, consulting) to talk about how to apply to jobs in their field and tips and tricks for resumes and interviews. This event will be held virtually using Google Meets.

Meet the Panelists
Okechukwu Ezibe is the Manager of Human Resources at Wildlife Conservation Society Canada. He completed his Master's Degree in International Business at Hult International Business School in San Francisco before joining the United Nations' peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID) as an Associate Human Resources Officer. He has continued to advance his career in human resources with work experiences in Dubai and Canada. Okechukwu’s work in human resources has seen him successfully drive change management initiatives, develop and implement strategy and policies, enhance organizational culture and execute complex human resources projects.

Jay Fitzsimmons is a biologist with Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. He did his PhD in biology at the University of Ottawa, looking at butterfly responses to climate change in Canada. Nowadays he works on wildlife licensing, coordinating things such as wildlife disease surveillance, falconry licences, bear monitoring, etc. He also worked briefly for the federal government (Canadian Wildlife Service) on the international trade of polar bear products. Government biology jobs can be great, but the application process can be intimidating – Jay will try to help you understand it.

Jenny Enoae is a Principle Ecologist with WSP with over 16 years of experience in the ecological field and has been involved in a wide range of Environmental Impact Studies (EIS), and Environmental Assessments (EA) for land development, transportation and servicing projects, as well as biological monitoring projects and natural heritage studies. She is also Team Lead of Ecology supporting a group of 30 ecologists in Ontario. Jenny’s primary responsibilities include people management, including staff resourcing, project management of EIS, natural heritage components of EAs, and natural heritage studies; and senior technical oversight and guidance to the Ecology team.

Chris Robinson has been with the OFAH since 2002 and is currently the Programs Manager in the Policy and Programs Department, formerly known as the Fish and Wildlife Department. The programs side of the department hires for 30-50 student, seasonal, and intern positions annually, as well as the occasional permanent and long-term contract position. Collectively the programs work on species and habitat restoration, education and outreach, and invasive species awareness, monitoring, and mitigation. . Chris has a B.Sc. from Guelph and a M.Sc. from Trent. After Guelph he worked in various capacities with MNRF, largely out of the Glenora Fisheries Station on Lake Ontario, before joining the OFAH as a research biologist.
